Sr. Vice President, Capital Markets

Matthew Nierenberg is Senior Vice President in the Capital Markets Group with Melville Capital. He joined the firm in 2015 and has over 20 years of experience in financial services.

In his current role, Mr. Nierenberg is responsible for providing markets analysis and commentary for internal and external clients as well as developing marketing strategies and brand building.

Prior to joining Melville Capital, Mr. Nierenberg worked in a variety of roles in the institutional global capital markets including fixed income portfolio manager/trader, corporate finance, debt advisory and relationship management. In addition, he has been an Adjunct Professor and Guest Lecturer at the Loyola Marymount University College of Business Administration.

Mr. Nierenberg earned a B.A. in Political Science from University of California, Santa Barbara, an M.B.A. with international honors from Loyola Marymount University, and a M.A.T. with international honors from the University of Southern California. In addition, he holds FINRA Series 7, 63 and 65 licenses. A long-time resident of Southern California, he enjoys spending time at the beach, participating in a variety of outdoor activities, philanthropy, and reading..

Brad Naso is Senior Vice President of Policy Acquisitions. He joined Melville Capital in 2007 and has almost 20 years of experiences in financial services and real estate.

Mr. Naso works with referral sources from a variety of professional areas including Insolvency, Restructuring, Valuation, Insurance, Estate Planning and Wealth Management.

Mr. Naso earned a B.S. in Marketing from Iowa State University. He is a licensed insurance agent and is an active member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, Turnaround Management Association, Association for Corporate Growth, Los Angeles Estate Planning Council and the Financial Planners Association.

Justin Blau is a Principal and Director of Policy Acquisitions, overseeing our New York office. He joined the firm in 2008, and has been involved in financial services and life insurance for more than 15 years.

Mr. Blau works closely with referral sources, internal business development professionals as well as policy buyers to ensure that cases are closed in a compliant and timely manner.

Mr. Blau earned his B.A. in Business Management from Farmingdale State University in New York. He is an active triathlete, enjoys participating in a variety of outdoor activities, and has a true passion for the wonderful craftsmanship of horology.

Doug Himmel is Managing Partner of Melville Capital with over 25 years of experience in financial services, lending, and life insurance.

An active member of many professional organizations including the American Bankruptcy Institute, Turnaround Management Association, Association for Corporate Growth, the Financial Planners Association, National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Mr. Himmel is sought out as an industry contributor, speaking at a variety of conferences, writing articles and providing market-related quotes.

In his spare time, he is active in entrepreneurship as an investor, advisor and/or Board Member to young companies and their Founders, philanthropy – serving on the Board of Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters – participating in and watching sports, especially his beloved Arizona Wildcats. A native and resident of Los Angeles, he enjoys being outdoors with his wife and two children.

Mr. Himmel earned a B.A. in Political Science and Finance from the University of Arizona. He holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses, and is licensed as a Life Agent/Life Settlement Broker in numerous states.
